Exciting news !

Our very own Louise Christie along with artist Joan Power have finally reached the publishing stage and their book Miss Gallant’s Favourite Season is being released on June 18th, 2009. This wonderfully written and beautifully illustrated children’s book captures Paula’s artistic spirit and her ability to see the beauty our world possesses in it’s most simple gifts and to share this love of life and art with her students.

 Congratulations Louise and Joan on a creating something that we can all treasure.

Spring Update

Hello to all our dedicated followers of paulagallant.com !

Spring is here .. a time of renewal and a time of hope.

Below is a summary of changes and additions that have been made to the website since our last posting.

  • October 2008 - Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards Program increased it’s reward program to $150,000 for information helping to solve Unsolved murders in Nova Scotia.
    • To reflect this the reward poster which is found under the Prosecution section was updated .
    • Also, at that time we created a flash intro to raise awarenes of this change in the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards Program
  • December 2008 - Paula’s birhday Party - 05/12/2008 
    • Under Perseverence you can find a new section entitled “A Walk to Remember”
  • February 2009 - “Miss Gallant’s Favourite Season” to be published soon.
  • Louise Christie is going forward with plans to publish her beautiful story “Miss Gallant’s Favourite Season”. You will find the link on the left  hand side of our main page and we will keep you updated as to the books progress and it’s availability.
  • May 2009 - Walk to Remember - found under the Perseverance section. 
    • Audra Raulyns link can be found in the Walk to Remember section gives you some background on the talented female singer and song writer who performed at Paula’s birthday party in December.

  • May 2009 - Victims Support - found under the Perseverance section. 
    • National Victims of Crime Awareness Week  is April 26 to May 2, 2009
    • Read our own Lynn Blackburn’s testimonial ” How One Victim of Murder Chose to be a Survivor” which will be included in the 2009 National Victims of Crime Resource Guide.

Awareness Campaign

Hello to all,

The pages for the Awareness Campaign have been uploaded. You can find these new pages under Perseverance. This new section covers both the Glace Bay and Timberlea launch sites and documents the official launch of Paula’s Website and ,what we affectionately refer to as, Paula’s “P’s”.  As of today we are approaching 7500 visitors since the site was launched and Paula’s “P’s” are finding thier way onto vehicles from Cape Breton To British Columbia.

Once again we thank all of you, new friends and old, for your support and ask you to continue to keep Paula’s story alive by passing along this website to your friends, family and collegues as we all work together towards the day when we can post “Case Solved” on the home page of www.paulagallant.com

We would encourage anyone interest in helping create more awareness about violence against women and taking action to help prevent it to please attend the seminar below!

The Metro Interagency Committee on Family Violence is presenting a free event themed “Ending Violence Against Women: Men Standing Up!”  The event offers free admission, free parking and a free healthy snack.
